Hm.
Hm. As is often the case, the best superhero genre comics occur when a very skilled writer picks up an established character. This is a common practice in comics. Examples of where this has been extremely successful : Grant Morrisson's* "Animal Man" , his "X-Men", his "Doom Patrol", his "All Star Superman" , Alan Moore's "Hellblazer" , Frank Miller's "Batman" and "Daredevil" ... It's quite common that when a big-dick writer picks up a tired series, the series ends up seeing better days than it ever has before. In Japan , you have the tradition of Doujinshi, where young authors do a riff on an existing series without permission. In America, that's basically illegal , BUT, we have the tradition where experienced writers take turns writing stories for a given character or series.
*Obviously by morrisson's , etc I mean THEIR issues of the publication, NOT that they themselves established it
