Rereading the Baroque Cycle for a third time

Oh its fine reading Mr Stephenson. Its just as good now as it was 6 years ago, when I read it in the county jail. Its still hard to put down one you start - even this being my third reading of it. The thing that's great about this series is that it'll easily send the reader down any number of paths of interest ... this is a series of fiction that has an effect I normally experienced, before my incarceration in 2017, from wikipedia pages . Quotes from such as Hobbes and Daniel Defoe , devices and fashions strange to a modern reader yet described in such a way that they invoke interest and inquiry in those minutiae rather than fading into the background like the scenery of some ill-concieved Netflix period piece .
