Prison Blog

In which Possum recounts his experiences as an offender in the system.

Possum Bones is autistic. He has identified as a dirty kid in the past, and he’s attended multiple rainbow gatherings. He has several years left to serve in the Washington Correctional system.

He has been making art since he could sit up. He communicates better in writing than speech. If you are interested in the experience of an autistic person doing prison time, check out his Prison Blog. If you are a fan of comic art, underground/outsider music, Lovecraft, Clarke Ashton Smith, Murakami, Cixui Liu, etc.

Art Education

So, like , bear with me this is about something... in the game Metroid Prime there these sections of wall you can scan . Some of them look like pictures, some of them are computer displays. You scan them and it gives you a corresponding information file ( which counts toward 100% completion of the game ). Some of the things you scan give you morphology info on creatures, some give you files on history and lore of alien civilizations ( space pirates , chozoa ) ...
Some artists have an original enough style and are so skilled that they are like these sections of lore on the wall. Just by looking at them , even before you even know it, unconsciously it effects your sketches. You look at even a few pieces by one of these kinds of artists ( Stokoe, Frazetta, John Buscema, Rumiko Takahashi , King Cheetah, Skinner, Lots of them ) and its like you’ve scanned this massive data file just by looking at it. The character of it is on this level that its like you’ve read a small book.
