Prison Blog

In which Possum recounts his experiences as an offender in the system.

Possum Bones is autistic. He has identified as a dirty kid in the past, and he’s attended multiple rainbow gatherings. He has several years left to serve in the Washington Correctional system.

He has been making art since he could sit up. He communicates better in writing than speech. If you are interested in the experience of an autistic person doing prison time, check out his Prison Blog. If you are a fan of comic art, underground/outsider music, Lovecraft, Clarke Ashton Smith, Murakami, Cixui Liu, etc.

Dare to Be Different

7/22/20
One of the art teachers in elementary school growing up had a poster she was all about that said " dare to be different " . The way I see it, you either are different , or you aren't. Its not a choice. Both ways you are doomed to suffer, either being persecuted for what makes you unique , or knowing inside you're vanilla. If there's a way to "make" a person different , it must hurt. I remember really hating that poster as a child. Probably because subconsciously I sensed how ironic it was. Like " you don't know the half of it, lady. In ten years I'll probably be a homeless needle addict and itll be all these squares around me that'll have drove me off the deep end . "
