It's called Modern Realism
There's a 20th century art style I associate with opaque watercolor ( gouache, I think in america opaque watercolor might be the more common term for the previous century ) ... in illustrative and commercial art mainly ... I want some kind of compilation of these kinds of pieces. For an example, look at the cover of the "Its a Wonderful Life " movie. Now, considering the art style not the content. This what you see on movie posters and in advertisements, and book covers for pulp novels. You hopefully know the style I mean now. The colors are slightly muted, and there's bright " satin" highlights. I'm interested in what media might be most commonly used to produce this and also I'd want to see more of it. Another example would be the movie poster for " Bus Stop ".
