d20 Modern
This d20 modern core book, as far as I've read ... Seems to represent a time in the history of the d20 system where they ( The people involved, wizards , tsr, whatever , I dont have the ability to research ) had yet to soil themselves with 4th edition, but after they had learned from the experiment of the system in alternity. Alternity had a lot of very good things about it, but it was maybe too ambitious, and too meticulous. There are things I would choose to adjust , mainly things this system has in common with 3.5 : the dodge feat, for example. I'd just use the dodge feat like it is in pathfinder. So, I haven't played this system yet. It looks like they were probably ripping off shadowrun ( " Shadow Chasers " ? Really ? ) , which is not necessarily a bad thing . I despise the perception skill in pathfinder, I've always believed for balance reasons that it should be spot and listen . It seems like a time between very different mistakes , after the over complication of Alternity but before the oversimplification of everything that happened after DND 3.5 ( Pathfinder included, honestly, I enjoy it OK, but I do take issue with a lot of things . )
Additional: It would be cool if it had a couple more social attributes and skills like white wolf does.
Also, the vehicle combat in this system seems better explained than in alternity , and its also better than the starfinder vehicle combat ( but the starfinder vehicles are totally out of wack ... ) .
OK, listen to 'Video Stalker' by mega drive. I would compare this to H.Exe in the other album, and its also late in the album so it really is kind of an analogue. Zero point non response is also a true synthwave masterpiece. The key here being a heavy drum to balance out the weak wrist of the synth sound.
