Prison Blog

In which Possum recounts his experiences as an offender in the system.

Possum Bones is autistic. He has identified as a dirty kid in the past, and he’s attended multiple rainbow gatherings. He has several years left to serve in the Washington Correctional system.

He has been making art since he could sit up. He communicates better in writing than speech. If you are interested in the experience of an autistic person doing prison time, check out his Prison Blog. If you are a fan of comic art, underground/outsider music, Lovecraft, Clarke Ashton Smith, Murakami, Cixui Liu, etc.

Possum Q & A

Q: Possum, you draw a lot of girls with pubic hair. Is this something you like on a woman?

A: Yes, but it’s also a matter of artistic sensibility. (laughs) As if. But seriously, I think it’s beautiful. Personally, I wish I had more hair on my body. I mean, isn’t that appropriate for a furry fetishist?

Q: You don’t consider yourself an artist?

A: No, I do, but when I think of it like that, “I’m an artist”, my first thought is that I should be a lot better if that’s what I am, so I tend to avoid referring to myself that way unless I’m backed into a corner.

Q: You also draw a lot of “futanari” girls, or girls with penises. What have you got to say about that?

A: Umm…well, first, futanari girls is basically what they are: my introduction to this type of erotica was through futanari hentai. In hentai, It’ll pop up where you don’t expect it and generally appears in hentai that seems to be marketed towards a predominantly female-interested audience. I have a lot to say about that but I think it’s important I address something else, which is that kind of hentai…existed before the whole transgender rights thing exploded. So, I want to say of course I support that, but please understand I don’t consider the drawings I create to be an accurate image of what a transwoman is. My drawings are purely fantasies, and the best part about that is they can be anything I want. That being said, if any gorgeous transwomen would…*

Q: NEXT QUESTION! Are there any artists whom you respect, who have influenced your own work, or that you’d like to mention?

A: Oh, absolutely. It’s been almost a year since King Cheetah died, and I really admired his cartoon style. It was so expressive and lighthearted, but expert. Of course I’m also a big fan of Wolfy-Nail. I also like and artist called In Case, and the Italian, Ganesa. There’s a French hentai artist, John K Peta, who I like. His stuff is hilarious. There’s a lot of non-pornographic art I like too, but that’s like, another answer. I definitely feel what you might call a “spiritual connection” with R. Crumb but due to unfortunate circumstances, I haven’t been able to study his work as closely as I’d have liked. There’s a few artists I know only as the names they are tagged as on G.EiHentai.org, two of these are Doxy and Bonk, both of whom I like very much.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to say?

A: Yes. Thank you. If you comment or message me and I don’t answer, this is because I am literally unable. A family member handles my page in my stead. I can‘t explain why, but I can say that it won’t always be this way. Also, under the last question, I wanted to mention what comics I like, but it didn’t fit. Originally, my goal was to get better so I could draw a comic. It sort of still is, but now I just enjoy drawing. So, to name a few: I like Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison, Garth Ennis, alan Moore, Go Nagai, Junji Ito, Shintaro Kago, Haruko Ichikawa, Paru Itagaki, Hitoshi Iwaaki, Kentaro Miura, Frank Miller, Stan Sakai, Jamie Delano, Jonathan Hickman, Yukito Kishiro…and a lot more. My favorite comic is Doom Patrol.
